CHARACTER INFO: Edmure Tully is a typical youngest son: joyful, carefree, quick to smile. He’s not particularly bright, nor does he have a good sense of his life’s direction: at Oxford, he switched majors several times before finally settling upon Interdisciplinary Studies, and graduated without honors, much to his father’s disappointment. Edmure never thought about actually running the company, but with the high likelihood of his father’s death, he’s trying to learn a lot of things in very little time. Edmure has never held a real job besides the one at his father’s company, so he’s quite inexperienced. But with Uncle Brynden to help him deal with the real world, Edmure has no intention of chickening out, however much pressure is put on him to do so.

Politically, Edmure identifies with the Labour Party, and generally follows the position the rest of the family takes. He would much prefer to live as a philanthropist, helping those people whose need is greatest, but he instead finds himself near the top of one of the largest companies in the world. He is confused, understandably, but he tries his hardest to do a good job in all he does. Edmure is fond of jokes, drinking, partying, and football, though he harbors an unusual hatred of sung music.

FUTURE PLANS FOR CHARACTER: Hoster’s death appears imminent, so after that, control of the empire will pass to Edmure. Due to his father’s immense wealth. Edmure has been living the easy life since birth, and isn’t entirely competent. Brynden will try to help him, but Edmure’s bound to make some bad economic decisions that will lessen the profitability of the company, but the Tully name will still remain influential in the minds of the voters because of Edmure’s easy charm. As he loses money, Edmure will throw his support behind his sister’s husband’s nationalist movement, and push him to step out into the political arena. By this time, he’s lost trust in the English political system - he can’t abide how totally petty the candidates are to each other he does’t think they’re good people, and he disagrees with them on major points. Other board members could band together to oust him from his position of power in the company…but Edmure is likeable enough to command their respect.
